The sound of large, heavy fruit hitting a tin roof in the middle of the night... ah.... Home.

Trail Riding!
Yea! Our first real trail ride was a success. Diana and Mike and I went out for 2 hours on the BLM land behind the barn. Gunner did great! Mike's horse, Indy, had to lead most of the time, the other 2 weren't too keen on it, but Gunner was willing for a short while. There were some exciting canters, through the overgrown brush reminencient of some of the canters in Spain. Those didn't last too long, once stopping to pick up Mikes straw hat w/ a stick after he got whacked in the head by a low hanging branch. I also go to see how Gunner reacts to water and cars... basically doesn't care about either. But he does NOT like to be left behind, blasting into a canter like he was shot from a cannon. And in the arena he practically has to be thumped to get him going. Great progress and I was very happily exhausted at the end of the ride.
