Ok, there really is a place called George, Washington. I always thought people were making a joke until I went there for a concert. It's a 5 hour drive from Portland, but the venue is amazing. Your in the middle of High Desert, on the edge of a canyon, there aren't any city lights to compete with the stars, and the concert was one of the best I've been to in years.
A couple of months ago, Stephanie got us tickets to see the show and camping reservations nearby so we wouldn't have to do the drive 2x in one 24 hour period. Unfortunantly I goofed on the dates, and we were supposed to be in Sun River w/ Brian's family for the weekend. I was able to sell one ticket but not both, so we divided and conquered. Brian went to Sun River for the family get-together, and I went camping with the girls. The early Friday drive over was enlived with a missed exit and having to drive 40 miles out of the way... and lots of embarassment over that. We finially made it and gathered the group to join the other cattle waiting to get in to the Amphitheater.
We saw Finger 11, Puddle of Mudd, and the headliners, Nickelback. They were Awsome! They really enjoyed themselves on stage, had fun interacting with the crowd, and just put on a great show.
The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing around the camp, reading, swimming, going on a short walk to see the petrified ginko trees, and quite a bit of catching up with the girls.
