Nervous Sweat
The flight or fight response is amazing. I got to experience it myself this evening when I was asked to inject the intrathecal morphine into our patient this evening. Doctor J left it til the end, then had to leave. I've seen it given a million times, but never done it myself. Now I was holding the hypo, poking it into the Dura (that's the SPINAL CORD FOR CRYING OUT LOUD) drawing a flash-back, and injecting 0.35cc. ACK!!!!! I broke out in an immediate nervous sweat. Next time we're in surgery, I'll be asking to do it again.

Next time, I recommend you ask the circulator for a sterile paper bag to breathe into after you do it!
