
No not the book or movie... just us getting all the gear, necessary instructions, and able bodies together to grind and press the apples. I'm figuring it was probably only 150 pounds, since 2 years ago we also made apple butter and sauce and that was 200 pounds. We were also using the generous loan of a grape press, but it really didn't like fruit larger than grapes. This year Brian did end up renting a grinder and press and it made a HUGE difference. Larger hopper, larger crank, and metal seive instead of cloth.... only took a few hours instead of being an all day opperation.

Now We've got our 6 gallons sitting in the pantry, sugar and yeast added. 2 months from now we'll be bottling the hard cider but since it was better the longer we let it age, we probably won't be drinking it for a while.
