My surgery was Wednesday, Dec 10Th (yesterday) and I'm already home recuperating. I discovered I was not being a wuss, since the screw was sitting in my joint like a trilobite in a cave wall. It had done enough damage to remove 30% of my cartilage on the surface of the femur. Maybe I should have been more of a wuss earlier. The pictures are hard to decipher, but I've outlined the edge of the cartilage that was worn away. And the screw is very noticable.
The sound of large, heavy fruit hitting a tin roof in the middle of the night... ah.... Home.

Trilobites
The accident was in late February and I started walking on my left leg at the end of May. Never being in this situation before, I really didn't know what to expect. By October, I was getting more sore, not less. Was I being a wuss? Should I just keep going even though it hurt? Fortunately, Jeff got tired of watching me limp around and recommended (very strongly) I see a surgeon that does Hip Arthroscopes, Dr. Wagner. After reviewing my CT scan, and having several other people review my scan, he was almost 100% sure that there was a screw in my hip joint. He requested one of his peers at Emanuel to come assist in taking the screw out, after he preformed the arthroscope to check out the condition of the joint.

No one will ever call you a wuss again! Have fun healing...again.
Thanks! I have to admit, I'm a little less motivated the 2nd time around.
